Cancer is a horrible disease that has touched too many families around the world. It has taken lives and left unanswered questions. The game That Dragon, Cancer was released earlier this week in honor of a little boy named Joel, who would be seven today if he also fallen to cancer. Ryan and Amy Green, Joel’s parents, made the game to explore the struggle, horror, and helplessness they experienced in their son’s cancer. The game intimately delivers the good moments, the bad moments, and then the tragic death.
Games like this remind us that grieving is a natural process of loss. There are many ways to grieve and this was Ryan and Amy’s beautiful way grieving.
