The feeling you get after ruthlessly killing a group of monsters is what I imagine John Wick feels like whenever he does something cool. Well, maybe he feels a little cooler since he’s not doing it from behind a screen. Regardless, getting kills is a good feeling – and these mods exist to make that aspect of Minecraft even crazier!
12. Extra Bows
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.14-1.16 It’s unfortunate that there are so many different materials for swords, but only wood for bows. Extra Bows is a simple mod that lets you make bows out of materials more interesting than sticks. If you do a lot of trading, you could make a powerful emerald bow! I’m not too sure how changing the bow handle’s material changes its power… but having a bow to match my Shrek skin is enough to make me stop asking questions.
11. Switch-Bow
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.14-1.16 This mod is for those of you that enjoy shooting things, and want to shoot things in more ways. It introduces a new bow, quivers, and enough new arrows to make even the most decked-out skeleton drool. The quivers serve as a closet to store all your designer arrows. If the regular quiver is too small for you, there’s a big quiver that stores more arrows and is also shiny. You can transform regular arrows into special arrows by building a structure known as a pedestal. Can you guess what you do with this pedestal? No, you don’t put someone on it. The pedestal is to enchant your arrows! There’s also an arrow dispenser, which is useful if you enjoy the killing part of archery but not the archery part of archery. Just sit back, fire up some Redstone, and let the dispenser do your dirty work.
10. Dynamic Sword Skills
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.6-1.12 If you enjoy the feeling of mastery, Dynamic Sword Skills is worth checking out. This mod allows you to level up various sword-related skills. Kind of like enchantments, except it’s you that’s enchanted. These skills can be leveled up by using orbs that are found among dungeons and mob drops. Do you have what it takes to max out all your skills? Then consider working for Gordon Ramsay in his kitchen, because you’re clearly good with blades.
9. Better Combat Mod
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.9-1.11 Better Combat Mod tweaks the combat system in various ways to make fighting more fun. Although this mod is for older versions of the game, it implements dual-wielding. Unlike the dual-wielding found in the later versions of vanilla Minecraft, this mod allows you to dual-wield weapons too. After all, what’s deadlier than a sword? Two swords! Regardless of your actual hand orientation, your Minecraft character will be right-handed. Because of this, attacks with your left hand will do 50% less damage.
8. Epic Fight Mod
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.12, 1.14, 1.16 In vanilla Minecraft, combat is fun but it’s not quite epic. This mod changes that by making combat mechanics resemble an RPG. It adds different types of attacks (such as “stun”) as well as a dodge mechanic. If you want your battles to feel even more intense, play some epic fight music and chop your enemies up to the beat!
7. Better PvP Mod
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.7-1.17 If you get competitive while PvPing, then the Better PvP Mod is a must-have. No longer will you be plagued by the uncertainty of when your armor will finally give in during an intense PvP situation. Without needing to render yourself vulnerable by opening your inventory, this mod displays your potion effect status and your armor durability. It also makes sprinting easier (you don’t have to hold the forward key) as well as sneaking (it toggles). Your pinky and middle finger will thank you, and that means extra coming from a finger that’s usually used to offend people. Another thing you won’t have to worry about is your location. Better PvP Mod gives you a mini-map so that your epic battle of the century doesn’t turn into a silly game of hide and seek.
6. Happiness Is A Warm Gun
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.16-1.17 Bows and crossbows are fun. But what if you’re in the mood for something more brutal? Guns in Minecraft might sound super out of place, but does it really matter? Guns are fun! Just ask Call Of Duty players. Guns can be crafted as well as dropped from some new mobs. “Spy llagers” patrol the overworld, sometimes openly brandishing their guns and sometimes playing it more sneakily. The nether is patrolled by horrific creatures called “technodemons.” With the way they walk around with their guns out all willy-nilly, shooting everyone, it’s not hard to guess why they ended up in hell! This mod is a lot of fun. You could even say that happiness is installing “Happiness Is A Warm Gun.”
5. MC Dungeons Weapons
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.15-1.17 If you’ve ever played Minecraft Dungeons, you know that there are way more weapons there than in regular Minecraft. It makes sense that the game focuses on combat since there’s no building in it. MC Dungeons Weapons lets you play with the weapons from Minecraft Dungeons without buying the actual game!
4. Gods’ Weapons
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.7, 1.9-1.10 If you’re a geek for Greek mythology, you’ll love this mod. Gods’ Weapons adds weapons, armor, and rings with unique abilities to the game, and many of them are based on Greek gods. Some of these weapons also have special abilities to make you feel even more like a Greek god! You’ll understand why the Greek gods fought so much. Hint: it has something to do with how insanely fun their weapons are to use.
3. Slingshot
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: : 1.14 If concerts have taught me one thing, it’s that anything can be a projectile if someone hates the artist enough. Introducing the Slingshot. It’s not as ranged as a bow. It’s not as deadly as a crossbow. However, for what it lacks in power, it makes up for in versatility. Plus it’s enchantable! With Slingshot installed, you can turn an array of different objects into projectiles, both for purposes defensive and offensive. You can even treat your slingshot like a rocket launcher by launching TNT at your poor victims. After all, cutting Goliath’s head off is so 11th century BC. But blowing his head off? You’ll definitely impress the AD kids. All these countries with their nuclear weapons need to face the fact that TNT on slingshots is the future of warfare.
2. Tetra
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.14-1.16 With Tetra, you could be the new blacksmith in town! This mod allows you to take parts of one item and replace them with parts of another item. You’ll feel like a fashion designer the way that you’ll be mixing and matching different parts. Well, except for the fact that fashion designers usually mix and match parts for reasons unrelated to crafting a deadly weapon.
1. Block Armor
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.11-1.12, 1.16 Have you ever picked up a sponge and thought, “I want to turn this into armor”? This mod allows you to do exactly that, except replace the sponge with virtually any block ever. You can even turn blocks from other mods into armor! Some of these armor sets will even give you effects too. For example, my sponge armor set will absorb liquids around me. It also has the bonus of making me look like SpongeBob, which might not be the best bonus considering he doesn’t look like much of a fighter.
