And if you’re already going to flex on the Rift, you better look the part. So we’re going to take a look at Zac’s cosmetics and determine which skins are the most worth getting. Of course, this is just my opinion, so don’t get your beans into a condom if you disagree.
4. SKT T1 Zac
Released: June 27th, 2017 Price: 1350 RP This skin just didn’t do it for me. The only feature that blew other skins out of the water was the sound effect for your auto attacks. But even I’m not crazy enough to pull out the attack speed Zac in ranked, so that point doesn’t help him much. The character model is okay but a bit directionless. It’s just the base model but red and with some armor. Sure, other skins make even fewer changes than this but at least they have an obvious overall theme. While this skin on the other hand is just kind of there. It also has one of the most disturbing backing animations, as Zac eats himself bit by bit. Exactly what that had to do with SKT T1, I’m not completely sure. And as far as the abilities are concerned, there isn’t much to say. Everything is like in the base skin, only red this time. I guess the revive blobs have some armor on them (which is kind of cool) but that’s about it.
3. Battlecast Zac
Released: November 12th, 2020 Price: 1350 RP If nothing else, Battlecast Zachas a very obvious theme. You’re the cybernetic Jell-O of the future and you’re here to wreak some havoc! The character model is rather decent, with a pretty cool color scheme and a vaguely Evangelion design for your body. Your passive blobs are also a lot more interesting now, with actual textures and not just single-colored blobs. And your backing animation just hits us with the information that Zac has even more powers than we originally thought. It’s also worth mentioning that this is the only Zac skin (aside from the base) that has actual chromas. And given the standards for a Zac skin, it’s basically like having six more new skins! The splash art is also rather amazing, and the voice filter mixes things up a bit. It’s definitely a decent choice all around with no real glaring issues.
2. Special Weapon Zac
Released: March 29th, 2019 Price: 975 RP One would think that this skin deserves last place. After all, at first glance, it just seems like a glorified chroma. However, it actually has some tricks up its sleeve. The most interesting design choice for me was the addition of little tentacles. They’re present for both your blobs, your W, and your E. This little detail makes Zac feel a lot more dangerous – almost as if he’s barely in control at any given moment. And I have to say that I like that feeling quite a bit. Especially since this is the cheapest skin Zac has! Plus, you even get a new recall animation where Zac generally just goofs off. Overall, this is the closest to a Venom skin that we’re going to get – so it deserves some love.
1. Pool Party Zac
Released: June 25th, 2015 Price: 1350 RP This is one of the best Pool Party skins ever created and definitely the best Zac skin we’ve ever gotten. You’re your own pool and that alone makes it majestic. Your new backing animation even has you taking a load off amidst the heat. The character model is simple but effective – no question about that. The swimming trunks, the snorkel, it’s all there. And the duckies that spawn around your blobs give me a reason to live. Sure, from a technical perspective, this skin isn’t exactly changing the game – it’s mostly just recoloring, duckies, and some splashing sound effects. But it fits with Zac way too much to be ignored. Therefore, I give Pool Party Zac the crown and proclaim it the ultimate victor!
